The Sceptre of Righteousness
Part 1
At least 5 ways to view the ministry of Jesus
1. All Jesus did before he became a man as the WORD (LOGOS) OF GOD
2. All Jesus did on the earth as a Prophet and Messiah
3. All that he did in his death, burial, and ressurrection (Blood Sacrifice)
4. Intercession Ministry of Jesus as the mediator and High Priest
5. The rulership ministry of Jesus as Lord of lords, and King of kings.
w/o his Priestly Ministry, none of this would have done you any good.
Did you know that God never knew you as a sinner?
Mat 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. -- Mat 7:21 (KJV)
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? -- Mat 7:22 (KJV)
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. -- Mat 7:23 (KJV)
Isa 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. -- Isa 64:6 (KJV)
Gen 3:22
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: -- Gen 3:22 (KJV)
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. -- Gen 3:23 (KJV)
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. -- Gen 3:24 (KJV) [Psm 99:1; Isa 37:16]
w/o his Priestly Ministry, none of the rest would do you any good.
Do you remember: God made coats of skins to clothe Adam and Eve?
Gen 3:21
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. -- Gen 3:21 (KJV)
The animal was slain at the threshold of the garden marking the door
God never knew you as a sinner!
That means there is no sense to come to God cowering and afraid
He hath made him to be sin for us
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. -- 2 Cor 5:21 (KJV)
Heb 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. -- Heb 4:16 (KJV)
The sceptre of righteousness
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. -- Heb 1:6 (KJV)
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. -- Heb 1:7 (KJV)
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. -- Heb 1:8 (KJV)
Est 4:6
So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which was before the king's gate. -- Est 4:6 (KJV)
And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them. -- Est 4:7 (KJV)
Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to show it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people. -- Est 4:8 (KJV)
And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. -- Est 4:9 (KJV)
Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai; -- Est 4:10 (KJV)
All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days. -- Est 4:11 (KJV)
And they told to Mordecai Esther's words. -- Est 4:12 (KJV)
Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. -- Est 4:13 (KJV)
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? -- Est 4:14 (KJV)
