The dispensation of  Sardis (1500 - 1750  A.D.)

 

Sardis means the escaping one

                        or those who come out

       

                    Worship of Artemis (Cybele) as protectress of the city

                    Worship of Mary as protectress of the church

                             and the Queen of Heaven

 

                   Worship of Dionysus and his mother as the

                             mother of god i.e. mother child cult

                                      contrasted with

                    Worship of Mary as virgin with child and mother of god

 

                    Immortality achieved through pagan rituals

                                      contrasted with

 

                    Immortality achieved through catholic rituals

          The Gospel becomes a matter of doctrine to argue about rather than the power of God unto salvation.

                   second coming.  No real expectation of his returning.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.  --  Rev 3:4 (KJV)

Philadelphia means brotherly love

 

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;  --  Rev 3:7 (KJV)

 

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.  --  Rev 3:8 (KJV)
